Inspiring a hands-on connection with nature

Sessions and Fees

Friend’s Forest Nurseries aim to provide a flexible service for parents and a viable alternative to the employment of a nanny or a child-minder. Our competitive fees include all nappies, wipes and all meals during the session.

At Shere we open from 8.00am to 6.00pm and at Ash 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. We are open 51 weeks a year, only closing on bank holidays and 3 days between Christmas and New Year. During this closure full fees are payable to cover staffing costs. We are not able to give concessions in exchange for sickness, holidays and bank holidays but funded children continue to gain free hours in that week.

The minimum booking is two days a week. Children 0-2 booking 3 days must include either  Monday or a Friday in the booking pattern. We have some limited short day and term time funded sessions that are allocated on a first come first served basis.

Securing a place for your child

Once you have booked a show round and experienced the warm atmosphere, you can reserve a place with the receipt of your registration forms and a £50 non-refundable booking fee. We will then keep in contact to let you know when a vacancy is likely to become available.

Once a place has been offered you will be asked for 50% of the first month’s fee in advance to confirm your booking. This is non refundable if cancelled. Register here by completing the Registration Form

Support with Nursery Fees

Depending on your circumstances most families are eligible for assistance through various vouchers or tax credits. Check what you can claim via the government’s Childcare Choices website here.

Free Early Education Entitlement

All 3 and 4 year olds become eligible for 15 hours Early Years Free Entitlement (EYFE) the term after their third birthday. However you may be eligible for 30 hours and Pupil Premium funding. Find out on the government Childcare Choices website here.

We only offer stretched funding over 52 weeks to ensure your calendar monthly bills are the same. Charges are then paid for wrap-around care and nursery services including food, care and education, our leading forest school, staffs, rents, cleaning etc.

Please ask the manager about possible FEET funding for 2 year olds.

Free term time places are offered on a limited basis. Full day term time care is only offered as specialised provision for Ash Manor School staffs only.

Reviewing fees

Our fees are reviewed each year. If  the operating costs have risen we have to increase the fees. You will receive notice in the autumn term with the first month of the increase on January 1st.
